Many things seem easy until you try to do them. One of such is introducing yourself in a formal setting.

When you attend a seminar or job interview or you need to make a presentation, how do you introduce yourself without making a mess of yourself?

This article will show you how to introduce yourself in a formal setting with just four sentences.

Sentence1: Greeting

A simple Good morning, Hello or something similar is okay. It’s also a good idea to accompany it with a gentle smile.

Sentence 2: Your name

"I’m Garba Akpabio"

is a perfect fit for this.

Sentence 3: Point of Connection

What connects you with the person or people you’re introducing yourself to? Mention that in a simple sentence.

" I’m your new Cartography lecturer"

"I'm here a to present a paper on Conic Map Projections"

"I'm a prospect seeking a teaching job in your school"

Those are examples of a good connection statement.

Sentence 4: Call to action (or conclusion)

This is a simple sentence to set the ball in motion.
Some examples are:

"Let’s get started"

"Thank you"

Wrapping up

This template is based on the popular lines of Indigo Montoya in "The Princess Bride" novel by William Goldman. I hope you find it useful.
